Design in the Media: 2025

Design in the Media started with a simple idea: pay attention to where design stories are being told and make that coverage easier to see. Over the past year, we continued to do exactly that, quietly and consistently documenting how designers and studios are showing up across the media landscape.

This recap looks back at 2025 through the numbers, not as a performance report, but as a way to reflect on the scale and rhythm behind the work and why it matters for designers. Happily created by the team at BryteBox.

12 Interviews and 13 Profiles Published

Alongside story coverage, we published 12 interviews throughout the year. These conversations added depth to the platform, offering space to slow down and explore perspectives beyond headlines and images.

Interviews allow designers to share more context around their work and practice, complementing the ongoing documentation of media coverage with reflection and dialogue.

170 Publications Covered

Design coverage appeared across 170 publications in 2025, from well known national outlets to regional and niche publications. Tracking this range is part of the value we offer. It shows not just that design is being covered, but where and how those stories are being told.

For designers, this creates visibility beyond a single feature. It highlights the wider media ecosystem your work lives in and helps place individual projects within a broader editorial landscape.

614 Stories Shared

Throughout the year, we shared 614 stories featuring design projects and studios as they appeared across publications. Each story followed the same editorial format, creating a steady archive of coverage rather than a stream of isolated highlights.

For designers, this consistency matters. It means your work is not just seen once, but placed within a broader context of ongoing coverage across the industry. Week after week, stories were added, building a record that reflects how design is actually showing up in the media.

1,819 Designers and Studios Featured

In total, 1,819 designers and studios were featured over the course of the year. This breadth is intentional. Our goal has never been to spotlight the same names repeatedly, but to reflect the range of practices, projects, and voices that make up the design community.

By documenting coverage across many studios, Design in the Media helps designers see where they fit within the larger media conversation and how different types of work are being represented.

A Year of Consistent Coverage

At the heart of this year is consistency. Design in the Media exists to pay attention, to notice where design shows up, and to document that presence over time. The numbers reflect steady effort rather than moments of visibility, and together they form an archive designers can return to and reference.

As we move into the next year, our focus remains the same: continuing to track design coverage as it happens and making space for design work to be seen within the larger media conversation.

Where great design gets the spotlight it deserves.
